Weddings at Tall John’s House give you complete control to take over the barn from Friday to Sunday and transform it into the space YOU want for your wedding day. The icing on the (wedding) cake is that on top of the use of our beautiful barn, you have access to two enchanting, protective courtyards on either side of the barn, with views out across the Black Mountains. You also have the use of the exquisite grounds at Tall Johns House, including the stunning walled garden, for pre-dinner drinks and wedding photographs. You’re welcome to attach your own marquee to the barn if you’re after that extra bit of space. For civil ceremonies we can offer you our charming gazebo on a natural grass stage in the gardens, our beautiful split level Granary or the manor house itself. We don’t charge corkage so you can mix up your favourite cocktails or source your own champagne, we allow fireworks and confetti. We are licensed to hold ceremonies on site in the barn, in the gazebo in the garden, in the manor house or in our granary but if you want that church wedding service then there is a beautiful church that sits by the waters edge of Llangorse Lake, a mere 5 minutes down the lane from us. There is oil-fired central heating throughout and lashings of hot water. The property offers 11 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms. In the main house there are three Manor bedrooms which are elegant, light and spacious with large Georgian windows and all the character of the period. They have been renovated to a high standard and each have their own large and well-equipped bathroom. Two of these have superking beds that can be split to make twins and the third has a king size bed. There are two further double rooms in the main house, both with their own bathrooms. Just across the lawn in the old stables there are a further two king size bedrooms that can be split for twins and a further double bedroom and three singles all with their own bath or shower rooms. All bedrooms are provided with plenty of large, fluffy towels, hair-dryers and a range of soaps, shampoos and shower gels. There is wi-fi connection throughout, a beautiful walled garden and large lawns, a small fitness room, sauna and a table-tennis table. There is ample parking. Our house team are on site to give you any assistance throughout your stay. Breakfast is included in your rental but our chef can also help you with lunches, teas, children’s suppers, light 2 course suppers or a full 3 course dinner with canapés beforehand.
