Great British Florist is a company situated in Herefordshire on Lower Blakemere Farm specialising in just British flowers. Great British Florist was born after owner Heather Gorringe discovered that 90% of flowers sold in the UK were imported from abroad. Initially, Heather’s British flowers were part of a selection of products by the Wiggly Wigglers, Heather’s garden supplies business. However, in 2012, the Great British Florist was launched.
Great British Florist offers a larger range of British flowers and a fuller range of floristry services than Wiggly Wigglers. Being a British florist certainly has its benefits; the flowers are fresh and travel less miles than their foreign counterparts meaning the recipient can enjoy them for longer! Also it’s far more sustainable and environmentally friendly than imported flowers, which usually travel 4,000 miles on a plane to get to you.
