London Canal Museum

A charming waterside venue on two floors, built as an ice warehouse in Victorian times. The colourful exhibits, fine timber roof, and exposed brick walls lend character in abundance to any event and are a backdrop that has made many an occasion memorable. The museum is on two floors (with lifts for those who need them), providing a choice of backdrop for smaller events and a change of scene during larger occasions, with different parts of the event on each floor. Despite being just a five-minute walk from King's Cross station, we're in a tranquil location that may seem a world apart from busy central London. You can arrive by boat on The Regent's Canal, and a canalside wharf is available to guests until 2200. We host a wide range of events. Drinks parties, receptions, dinners, conferences, awards ceremonies, seminars, parties and weddings are all hosted here. We are licensed for wedding ceremonies. Customers can choose their own external caterer and bring their own drinks - we don't charge corkage or restrict your choice. We can provide event staff to set up furniture, lay tables, staff the bar, install decorations, and provide coffee and tea (we don't serve food, your caterer does that). You can have any style from a silver service formal meal to an informal meal of street-food fayre. We host daytime conferences on Mondays only, evening events any night of the week (music and dancing at weekends only), breakfast meetings any day, and small committee meetings or training any day in a separate meeting room. The latest finishing time is 2300, with a limited number of events going on to midnight or 0100. Up to 120 guests can be seated for a meal, and up to 200 can be accommodated standing. The museum has a full air conditioning system and modern toilets. Additional event services optionally available from us include sound systems and audio-visual equipment, decorative lighting, table covers, wine ice buckets, ice delivery, glassware hire, storage facilities before and after the event, furniture hire, chair covers, and we will arrange external hire for you if necessary. We have been hosting private functions since 1998 so our experience is available to help you plan an event that goes as you want it to.
