Gilmerton House

Gilmerton House, a Grade A listed Georgian mansion conveniently located 30 minutes from Edinburgh city centre and 40 minutes from Edinburgh airport, has been home to the Kinloch family for thirteen generations. A member of Unique Venues of Edinburgh, Historic Houses Association and recipient of the Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award, the house operates as a 5 star exclusive use private venue for all forms of special occasions including corporate hospitality, company away days, team building activities, private meetings, golf parties, dinner parties, product launches, film shoots, weddings, family celebrations and luxury afternoon teas. The estate comprises 1000 acres of which 100 acres are woodlands and walks. The gardens and woodlands can accommodate a variety of outdoor activities, including highland games, croquet, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, and archery and falconry experiences. The house has a variety of elegant reception rooms which provide a spectacular setting for a wedding or other special occasion. The four public rooms can be easily adapted to accommodate conferences and meetings and complimentary WIFI is available throughout the house. The Music Room, one of the finest rooms of its age in Scotland, can accommodate 60 guests for dinner and 100 for a drinks reception or wedding ceremony. Smaller receptions and ceremonies can be held in the downstairs Drawing Room which overlooks the beautiful terrace and gardens. Additionally, the Dining Room is ideal for more intimate dinners for up to 20 guests. Larger events can be accommodated in a Marquee situated in the charming and picturesque Rose Garden. Dining at Gilmerton House can be as relaxed or as formal as the party requires and our caterers will be delighted to work with you to create just the right atmosphere whatever the occasion. The house offers 10 luxurious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, providing accommodation for up to 20 guests. A full butler service and luxury breakfast is provided for overnight guests. The breakfasts, prepared in-house by our own chef, contain high quality locally, where possible, sourced produce. In addition to the accommodation in the main house, Gilmerton Lodge, a 3-bedroomed detached period property just outside the main gates to Gilmerton House provides further 5-star accommodation for up to 6 guests. When hired as additional accommodation, the lodge guests can also enjoy breakfast in Gilmerton House.
