Avington Park is a privately owned stately home and is perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions, with entry to the House along the historic lime tree drive and to the magnificent frontage of the pallidian mansion. The house is set in its own parkland, bordering the River Itchen with magnificent views across the parkland.
Once described by William Cobbett as “one of the prettiest places in the County”, and having played host to Charles II and George IV, the House boasts wonderful rooms - the beautifully painted main hall, the library overlooking the south lawns, adjoining and leading onto a unique pair of conservatories and the ballroom upstairs with magnificent gold plasterwork ceiling and painted panels - yet Avington retains the atmosphere and warmth of a family home.
Guests may enjoy the lawns and views in summer and winter with the added bonus of welcoming log fires in the colder months. We have a choice of excellent caterers, who provide great service and fantastic food.
Weddings From the grandest wedding to a small intimate gathering, Avington Park provides a stunning setting for your wedding or reception.
Approach through wrought iron gates, down the lime tree avenue alongside the River Itchen and sweep round to the elegant façade. Guests can be greeted in the magnificently painted hall, where in winter, log fires will offer a warm welcome. In summer, extensive lawns provide a wonderful setting for a drinks reception before sitting down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast in the library.
The library can hold 100 guests for a silver service wedding breakfast. Larger wedding parties may be accommodated in a marquee adjoining the library.

Corporate Events Today’s corporate visitor can appreciate the peace and tranquillity of this elegant, historic house. The staterooms are magnificently painted and lead onto two unique conservatories facing the south lawn.
Avington Park is an ideal venue for a wide range of functions, from small private meetings to large corporate hospitality days, launches & classic car rallies, company dinners, conferences and promotions.
There are wide lawns and meadows for outside activities, beautiful rooms inside and a 9 hole golf course and trout fishing, a mere ½ mile away.
Access is particularly easy with the M3 just 10 minutes away. Winchester train station is only 5 miles away. There is ample free car parking on site.
There is excellent in-house catering. Everything is done to make things run smoothly and efficiently with the least amount of difficulty for the organiser, with the maximum amount of enjoyment for the client.
