The Star and Garter offers an impressive venue to host events including formal and informal parties, banquet dinners, conferences, Christmas parties and weddings.
Weddings Originally built in the Victorian era, our Ballroom is one of Putney’s best-kept secrets. Located on the first floor, passing under the chandelier you ascend the winding staircase to enter this impressive space. With its thirty foot high ceilings, ornate plasterwork and breath taking views over the river, the room benefits from lots of natural daylight and has a light and spacious feel. Additionally the space is completely self-contained and includes its own private bar and bathrooms to ensure your big day is exclusive to you and your guests.
The Star & Garter can provide a complete day, from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast along with a dance floor to dance the night away. The Ballroom is licensed for civil marriage ceremonies. Our Events Manager will be in attendance to offer general assistance to you and your guests throughout the day. We can look after your programme of music and ensure the day runs smoothly.

The Ballroom This beautiful room located on the 1st floor of the Star & Garter is available for private hires. With its thirty foot ceiling, private bar, art deco stage and natural daylight it’s sure to take your breath away.
The Cellar Bar Wander downstairs and you will find our more informal Cellar Bar which boast its own bar and dance floor. Perfect for social occasions up to 90 people standing.
The River Bar The River bar overlooks the Thames and is ideal for smaller gatherings & informal parties.
