The Merchants House of Glasgow. The awe-inspiring Victorian architecture and ornate features include the sweeping marble staircase and stained-glass windows and the refined interiors of the magnificent Merchants Hall and the Directors and Lord Dean’s Rooms.

The Merchants House of Glasgow is an established registered charitable organisation providing donations and support to individuals and deserving charities across the city of Glasgow and beyond.
For over four centuries after the foundation of The Merchants House, it remains part of the fabric of Glasgow and is proud to be one of the oldest social enterprise organisations.
The Grand Hall With its magnificent and ornately decorated ceiling, dazzling chandeliers, historic features and Victorian decor, there is a wonderful feeling of stateliness in the awe-inspiring Grand Hall. It has retained its timeless charm and captivating character.
Stunning stained glass windows flood in natural day light and illuminate the original artwork and rich hues of colours, including the mahogany panelled walls inscribed with bequests from the men and women of Glasgow who generously gave to the city. Atmospheric mood lighting adds a touch of glamour to evening affairs with a wooden dance floor and Steinway grand piano never failing to impress guests.
The Grand Hall, located on the first floor, it is the largest space within The Merchants House and offers an outstanding and unique setting that can accommodate a variety of events, from lavish dinners and elegant weddings of up to 120 people, organised conferences and meetings to versatile exhibition space.
The elegant and intimate Directors Room is awash with period features including glistening chandeliers and a striking white marble fireplace for a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Adjacent to the Grand Hall, is our Directors room it is an unforgettable space that seats up to 60 for a formal dinner and is suitable for wedding ceremonies, photography backdrops, drinks receptions, evening buffets and dinners as well as meetings and breakout spaces for events in the Grand Hall.
The interlinking rooms also make it ideal for larger social gatherings or a space for cocktails prior to dinner.
