Built in 1862, Highwic is one of New Zealand's finest Victorian mansions and provides a spectacular heritage setting for your wedding day. Whether it's an intimate ceremony or reception in the elegant 1880s Ballroom or a large wedding in a marquee on the Tennis Lawn, Highwic offers many unique and charming spaces. Your wedding at Highwic will leave you with fantastic memories of a day spent with family and friends in a truly unique setting steeped in history.
Here at Highwic, we have room and spaces for a variety of capacities and configurations. The Ballroom (located inside the main house) is a great formal, elegant space which can be used either for your ceremony or reception. The Billiard House (located outside the main house) is a much more relaxed space that you can really make your own. This space is most commonly used for receptions but is also suitable for a ceremony. The Ballroom can seat up to 50 people for a formal dinner while the Billiard House can seat 60 people. Both spaces can accommodate up to 90 people for a cocktail reception. Alternatively, you can opt for a garden ceremony which can seat or stand up to 150. We also have space for a marquee on the Tennis Lawn for up to 150 people.
Highwic’s wedding package includes full access to the historic house and grounds, Victorian lawn games including croquet and onsite parking for 40 cars.
Highwic is also available to hire for corporate events, meetings, Christmas parties, and filming.
