A stone’s throw from Borough Market, Hixter was originally a metal box factory and is lauded as one of the most unique and versatile venues south of the river. The main dining room, complete with a baby grand piano, is overlooked by contemporary artwork and the walls of the striking open-plan kitchen are built with the Himalayan salt bricks that are used to age our beef. Chicken and steak form the heart of the menu, alongside foraged British ingredients, and fish & seafood dishes influenced by Mark’s travels. Hixter also offers a variety of flexible private dining spaces for corporate and social events and licensed for wedding ceremonies.
Downstairs, Mark’s Bar is a hidden gem featuring an impressive sunken bar with cinema-style bar seating and Mark’s signature billiards table. Here, guests can also book ahead for Cocktail Masterclasses – ideal for groups of friends, team-building or entertaining clients. Every month Mark’s Bar welcomes well-known DJs to ‘Mark’s Bankside Lates’ playing from 10pm till 3am.
Throughout the year, Mark hosts a series of exclusive carving masterclasses, celebrating this quintessentially British skill. Sharing his passion for British produce whilst you feast on seasonal dishes throughout the evening, Mark shares knife skills and top tips on creating the perfect yet uncomplicated roast meal and dinner party, teaching guests the forgotten art of carving in the intimate setting of Hixter’s private dining space – The Bull Room.
The two-hour masterclass includes a Black Cow vodka cocktail masterclass arrival and feast dinner including three sharing starters, three carved meats served with seasonal accompaniments and dessert with Tonnix wine throughout.
