St. Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace (78 Bishopsgate) is a stunning venue situated just near Liverpool Street Station. It provides a fantastic combination of intimacy and grandeur with original 14th century arches providing the backdrop to the main space, while a truly magical oasis in the city awaits within the courtyard garden and traditional Bedouin Tent.
– THE NAVE –
The Nave is a fantastic multi-purpose space that can be used for dinners, meetings, conference spaces, workshops, talks as well as parties, concerts and music events.
The Nave provides a unique setting, a combination of an original church structure framed by modern glass and white walls. Its high ceilings, original arches, a stained glass window and fascinating history provide a wonderful atmosphere. It seats 90, with standing room for 120, but is equally suitable for smaller groups. Adjacent to the nave is the annexe which is a perfect refreshments area. The space is equipped with a lectern, flip charts, moveable staging, and an upright piano. It benefits from an integrated professional sound-system, theatre-style lighting and uplighting, audio recording facilities, an HD projector and powerpoint clicker. Other amenities include a small kitchen equipped with an oven, fridge, instant hot water, and basic cutlery and crockery. 90 chairs are available as well as up to 6 buffet-style tables, or the space may be left as-is for you to craft as you wish!
– THE BEDOUIN TENT –
The Bedouin Tent is a 16-sided structure, crafted in Saudi Arabia and woven from goat’s hair. A truly unique structure, the tent is a peaceful space ideal for meetings, workshops/training events and, along with the stunning garden offers up a magical setting for themed nights.
It is carpeted and fully heated, with a range of atmospheric lighting options. The tent is circular with cushioned bench seating around the edge. Comfortable capacity is 28 people. Guests are kindly asked to remove their shoes before entering.
