Minutes from Moorgate and Old Street stations, the HAC is a stunning, six-acre estate boasting several spectacular spaces. From conferences to summer parties, weddings to boardroom meetings, the venue is a versatile and unique setting for corporate and private events alike.
Since 1768, the HAC has provided Guards of Honour for a whole host of important individuals, including visiting members of the Royal Family and overseas Heads of State. Nowadays, the spaces are used by current and former members of the Regiment for both business and social functions. For such a centrally-located venue, the HAC is unexpectedly peaceful, removed from the bustle of busy City Road and providing the ideal space to meet, talk, think, and celebrate.
The estate comprises three main areas: Armoury House, a Grade II-listed Georgian manor house, complete with period features and six characterful rooms; the vibrant five-acre lawn of the Artillery Garden; the Prince Consort Rooms, a vast contemporary space with its own terrace.
Approaching Armoury House generates immediate impact. With its symmetrical wings, large cannons, and stone entrance steps, arrival at the HAC leaves a powerful first impression before so much as stepping foot in the building. Inside, stained glass windows overlook the central staircase and, on the ground floor, you’ll find the Ante Room and Queens Room (each with capacity for up to 60 guests). Both spaces benefit from large, front-facing windows and plenty of natural daylight.
The third and fourth floors are home to the remaining rooms: from the impressive collection of awards and medals – an inbuilt talking-point – of the Medal Room to the oak-panelled Long Room with its 250-guest capacity, the HAC’s spaces are as flexible as they are charming. As such, Armoury House is a popular choice for corporate events. Its selection of rooms are perfect for those looking to provide an inspiring backdrop for business, offering delegates the opportunity to meet, converse, and dine in one of London's most magnificent historic spaces.
Outside, the HAC’s Artillery Garden is a green oasis in the midst of the Capital’s steel and glass. The five-acre lawn is, perhaps, best known as home to London Concours; its grass has also hosted the likes of Premier League and Championship football teams, in addition to several high-profile rugby squads (including the All Blacks, Barbarians, and Saracens). That said, the Artillery Garden can be transformed from pitch to event space with ease; its size, location, and verdancy make for a majestic wedding or summer party venue. Likewise, the immaculate lawn offers an area for drinks receptions and networking in the warmer months, alongside corporate celebrations and team-building events. Fairgrounds, hot air balloons, croquet matches, barbecues – no matter the nature of the occasion, the Garden’s capacity and functionality allows for some truly unforgettable moments.
When it comes to versatility, the Prince Consort Rooms are a blank canvas. As a converted drill hall, it is the HAC’s largest space, capable of hosting up to 700 guests standing. Conference or wedding breakfast, the Prince Consort Rooms comes equipped with state-of-the-art A/V facilities to enhance the event experience, providing pinspot lighting, powerful speakers, and much more. The space also comes with access to an adjoining terrace – an excellent outdoor area for celebratory cocktails or mid-meeting break – and its own entrance. Past years have seen the Prince Consort Rooms blossom into a Hawaiian paradise, glitter as a Christmas Winter Wonderland, and seat showstopping seated dinners for some of the world’s most influential companies.
